What’s the difference between luxury vinyl and hardwood flooring?

Both solid hardwood and luxury vinyl planks (LVP) look and feel like wood. One, however, is cut from trees, and the other is a synthetic, true-to-life mimic of the real thing.

Selecting new floors is a significant investment in your home. You want to choose something that looks great and performs well for a long time. That includes meeting your style, budget, and lifestyle needs.

About Hardwood

It has natural beauty, durability, and easy maintenance, and adds real estate value. However, it can also be damaged by excess water. Therefore, it's not recommended for wet or below-grade spaces.

Engineered hardwood fares better. Its construction makes it stable and better able to handle water. It's still limited in installation possibilities, however.

About luxury vinyl plank

When you enter our flooring store, you'll see how remarkably true-to-life these images are. In addition, this product is entirely waterproof, whether spilled on or submerged.

A wet, humid area resident once told us you'd always see LVP, not genuine wood, in that area's homes.

There are thousands of images from which you can choose. You have access to all the species used in genuine wood for your new floors, with something suitable for any decor.

Images of wood (or stone and tile) are taken with 3D photography, and the floors have depth and dimension. In addition, textures, such as brushed, hand-scraped, distressed, and embossed-in-register, are available.

The vinyl is cut into planks to mimic hardwood. The other alternative is a cut square, tile-sized image, mainly used for stone and tile. The squares are, however, also being used to create wood look tile.
